Integrating with Highspot

This guide is designed to help enterprise and IT administrators seamlessly integrate Poggio with your organization's Highspot account, enabling our agents to pull in content from your spots.

Overview

The Highspot integration enables Poggio to facilitate better account planning by bolstering external context we already gather with your team's internal value frameworks, case studies, battle cards, and other relevant content. The setup is rather straightforward and assumes you have Highspot API access.

Setup

Prerequisites

  1. Click on "settings" in the top right corner of the Highspot user interface after logging into your Highspot account

  2. Navigate to the "developer" section and click on "basics"

  3. Ensure you see an API URL and credentials section and generate an API key and secret if not already present

Step 1: Access Integration Settings

  1. In your Poggio workspace, navigate to Settings using the side navigation menu

  2. Select Integrations from the settings options

  3. Locate the Highspot integration and click Connect

  4. Enter your API URL, Highspot account email, and API credentials in the appropriate sections

  5. Hit "create configuration" and you should see a "delete configuration" button once completed

Step 2: Run Tasks

  1. Once your Highspot integration is configured, navigate to "tasks"

  2. Enter a new task prompt that explicitly requests use of Highspot content

  3. You can also re-run existing tasks, especially those related to account planning, and see Highspot content referenced and integrated into the output

Security Considerations

Permissions and Access Control

  1. Be aware of permissions controls on your Highspot account to ensure our agents are not pulling in sensitive or restricted content. The integration uses a "principal" email address that determines which content is accessible. Poggio will only retrieve content that this principal user has permission to view in Highspot.

  2. Choose your principal user carefully. The principal email you configure determines the scope of content accessible to Poggio agents. We recommend using a service account or a user whose Highspot access aligns with what you want available to your team through Poggio—avoid using admin accounts with unrestricted access unless that level of visibility is intended.

  3. Spot-level permissions apply. Content within Highspot spots (collections) respects Highspot's native permissions model. If certain spots are restricted to specific teams or roles, ensure your principal user's access reflects your intended content scope.

Credential Management

  1. Store API credentials securely. Your Highspot API key and secret are stored encrypted in Poggio's secure infrastructure. Only workspace administrators can view, create, update, or delete Highspot configurations.

  2. Rotate credentials periodically. As a security best practice, consider rotating your Highspot API credentials on a regular schedule (e.g., quarterly). You can update credentials in Poggio Settings > Integrations > Highspot without disruption.

  3. Limit API access in Highspot. When generating API credentials in Highspot, use the principle of least privilege. Only grant the permissions necessary for content retrieval.

Content Visibility

  1. Internal content flags are respected. Items marked as "internal" in Highspot will still be accessible if your principal user can view them. Audit your Highspot content to ensure sensitive materials are appropriately restricted at the source.

  2. Audit content regularly. Periodically review which spots and items are being surfaced through Poggio to ensure alignment with your organization's content governance policies.

Support

Troubleshooting

  • Check integration status in Poggio Settings > Integrations to verify your Highspot connection is active.

  • Verify API credentials by regenerating them in Highspot's developer settings if authentication errors occur.

  • Contact your Highspot admin if you cannot see the "developer" section in your Highspot settings page or are unable to access the API.

  • Review principal permissions if expected content is not appearing. The principal user may not have access to certain spots.
